A new Acting President, Benue State Customary Court of Appeal has been sworn-in.
He is Justice Cosmos Idye who until the new appointment was a Judge with the Customary Court of Appeal.
Performing the swearing in ceremony at the old Banquet Hall of the Benue People’s House Makurdi, Governor Samuel Ortom stated that Justice Idye’s appointment was based on his track record of performance in previous assignments.
The Governor reassured the people of the state on his administration’s readiness to partner the Judicial arm of government in ensuring that the core values of government including accountability, equity,
justice and fair play among others are promoted.
He congratulated Justice Idye on his well deserved appointment and urged other arms of government to collaborate with the administration to tackle insecurity as well as other challenges confronting the administration.
Governor Ortom thanked the out gone President of the Customary Court of Appeal Justice Margaret Igbetar whom he said served meritoriously and retired after the thirty five years mandatory service to the state.
Responding, the new Acting President of the Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Cosmos Idye thanked the Governor for finding him worthy to serve in that exalted position.
Justice Idye pointed out that he was taking over a more challenging assignment and needed the support of all to succeed.
