Benue and Nasarawa States are to hold another security meeting soon.
Governor Samuel Ortom who made this known at the Benue Peoples House, Makurdi while briefing news men shortly after he presided over a security meeting with stakeholders from Agatu, said the security meeting will take place in Makurdi.
Governor Ortom said the security meeting will be part of the roadmap to ending killings in parts of the state by herdsmen and restoring peace to the troubled areas.
On when the meeting between him and his Nasarawa state counterpart, Alhaji Tanko Al-Makura and other stakeholders from both states would hold, Governor Ortom said the date and time would be disclosed after he must have had consultations.
He said the state government was creating a conducive
environment for displaced persons to return to their ancestral homes.
The security meeting Governor Ortom held with Agatu people was attended by top government officials and stakeholders from the area.
Governor Samuel Ortom and Governor Almakura met earlier this year in Lafia to find ways of preventing further crisis occasioned by the invasion of Benue communities by herdsmen.
