Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom says the State Government will soon organise a sports summit as part of its youths development programme.
Governor Ortom’s assurance is coming on the heels of the performance of the state-owned football club Lobi Stars who gallantly lost to Akwa United in this year’s Federation Cup final in Lagos.
According to the Governor, the sports summit will serve as a veritable platform for collation of ideas from stakeholders in sports on the best ways to reposition the industry in the state and enable the government to strategically engage youths to utilise their potentials.
He commends Lobi Stars on their performance, promising that the state would continue to support them to achieve greater successes.
Governor Ortom says in a contest, a victor must emerge, urging Lobi Stars to do more in subsequent competitions.
