
The Benue State Executive Council under the chairman of Governor Samuel Ortom today held its first session.
The Governor charged all appointees to work as a team and provide leadership to the people with the fear of God with transparency, accountability, fairness, selflessness, discipline, peace and reconciliation as their watchword.
He said it was a privilege to be chosen to be members of the state executive council out of a population of about five million people and called for dedicated service.
It deliberated and approved the memorandum on the need to obtain the Central Bank of Nigeria’s loan offer for settlement of outstanding salaries, pensions and gratuities.
It also approved another memorandum of the need to procure vehicles for officials of all arms of government within the approved supplementary budget passed by the State House of Assembly.
The assembly had approved N1.5 billion for the vehicles and the exco approved a little over N1.3 billion.
Council also directed that the new directive for increase of fees in public schools be suspended immediately for review.
