The forum made the disclosure in a communiqué after a meeting in Makurdi last Saturday.
“Members of the forum should unanimously work towards the actualization of the dream of their member, Chief Dr. Samuel Ortom, to become the Governor of Benue State in 2015,” the communiqué stated.
The document was signed by Dr. Akombol Ande Akombol, for the Benue North East Senatorial District, Clement Beetseh for the Benue North West and Moses Enenche, Benue South.
The communiqué also expressed appreciation to Governor Suswam for what it described as “the good work being done in infrastructural development and security.”
According to the communiqué members also resolved to adopt the name Grassroots Forum, Benue State for the organization and to also hold regular meetings.
The group was led by Chief Mrs. Keziah Agundu, former Ushongo local government chairman who was Chief Dr. Ortom’s contemporary when he was Guma council chairman between 1991 and 1993.
Speakers from the 66 members who attended the meeting described the Minister of State, Industry, Trade and Investment and Supervising Aviation Minister, Chief Dr. Ortom as a God fearing man who has acquired the requisite experience to be Governor having served at the local, state and federal levels.
The forum comprises former elected and appointed council chairman and sole administrators.
