NEW HOSPITAL EXCITES GBATSE RESIDENTS

One of the Primary Health Care, PHC, projects constructed under the Millennium Development Goals/Sustainable Development Goals, with solar-powered borehole with overhead tank has excited beneficiaries in Gbatse, Mbayegh, Ushongo local government area where it has been located.

“For us, Mbayegh and Utange, in this locality, I think this is the first of its kind. It is the first time we are seeing this kind of project and we thank the government of Benue State for the good work. The borehole here also helps us a lot, we drink from it and all the neighboring communities come to fetch their water here. The project is of importance because most times its at Ushongo or Adikpo that we go for medication but if this project becomes operational, one will only have to just turn around and you know that is not difficult.”

“We are very happy about the hospital because it has brought light to the community. Passers-by automatically know that there is a hospital in Gbatse.

Many of our wives hitherto gave birth to babies in our houses without receiving the attention of trained midwives, now that will become a thing of the past. We are sure they won’t have labor like domestic animals any longer and so we appreciate the APC led government of Samuel Ortom for what it has done. We were getting our drinking water from the stream but today we have potable water at home and our children are looking fresh as a result of the clean water we are drinking. Our clothes were hardly washed but today they are properly washed from the potable water we have.”

Several communities across Benue State are beneficiaries of the first phase of the 2015, Millennium Development Goals/ Sustainable Development Goals Conditional Grant Scheme (MDGs/SDGS – CGS) projects flagged off by Governor Samuel Ortom on 11th March, 2016.
