The Oracle Driving School has trained 161 drivers since it was established in 2011, coordinator of the school, Evangelist Dan Unongo, has said.
He made the disclosure at the graduation of three sets at the Oracle Printing Press, High Level, Makurdi, yesterday.
The coordinator said the 18 drivers who passed out at the ceremony had completed four months of intensive basic drivers’ course.
Messrs Elesho Benjamin of the Standards Organization of Nigeria, SON, and E U Edem, who represented the Benue State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission, described the school as one of the best in the country.
They said it complied with all the statutory stipulations but urged the authorities to increase the enrolment and also aim at higher heights.
Mr. Edem appealed to the drivers to observe all road signs and safety regulations describing road accidents as instant killers more deadly than diseases including the dreaded Ebola.
Founder of the school, Chief Dr. Samuel Ortom expressed gratitude to God for giving him the opportunity to pay back to society as a memorial to his humble beginnings.
He urged youths not to take to crime under any circumstances but to rather identify and development the talents which he said God had given to every person.
Chief Ortom, Minister of State, Trade and Investment stated that if they put in their best God was capable of elevating them to any position in life.
He promised to obtain drivers license for each of the graduating drivers as his contribution to setting them up in life.
Spokesman of the new drivers, Mr. Ternenge Akombor, thanked Chief Dr. Ortom and management of the school for the opportunity and pledged that the set would be good ambassadors of the school.
Several entertainment groups performed at the graduation ceremony.
