Governor Samuel Ortom has lauded his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Terver Akase for his professionalism, commitment and resilience in the face of daunting challenges confronting the present administration and the state in general.
He made the commendation yesterday at the Benue Peoples House, Makurdi when he received executive members of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN chapter for a courtesy call on him.
He thanked the Corporation for seconding Mr. Akase to work with him, stressing that “he is committed, resilient and cool headed in the midst of a storm,” especially now that the advent of the social media which has made information management more challenging.
The Governor appreciated the management of FRCN for always availing him the opportunity to air his views and activities of his administration and interact with other Nigerians, promising that he would utilize programmes on the network service of the Corporation.
Governor Ortom stated that his administration would always welcome constructive criticisms aimed at engendering development in the Food Basket state.
In his address, leader of the delegation and Chairman, FRCN NUJ chapel, Comrade Chukwuma Agbanusi said the trio of Mr. Terver Akase, Linus Hagher and Tersoo Zamber, all of FRCN who hail from Benue were great assets to the Corporation.
He appreciated Governor Ortom for choosing one of them as his Chief Press Secretary, giving assurance that the union would continue to support Mr Akase to excel.
The delegation presented a merit plaque to Governor Ortom for his courage in defense of Benue people and presented another plaque to Mr. Akase for his commitment to duty.
