The news making the rounds on social media that the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in Benue State, Chief Dr Samuel Ortom, has been arrested by the the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, is false, malicious, mischievous, and a campaign of calumny.
Members of the public may recall that I had earlier sent out an alert about the plans of detractors to smear the good name of the former Minister of State, Industry, Trade, and Investment.
The current fake report in one in a series which I assure supporters and well wishers that they will all fail to achieve their objective.
Chief Dr Ortom has not been arrested by the EFCC or any agency.
He is undergoing documentation in Abuja as APC Benue State governorship candidate and will return soon to the state to resume campaigns in earnest.
The former Minister has served without stain or blemish whether as council chairman, party administrator at the statesoon and national levels, minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and captain of industry in the private sector.
Chief Dr Ortom has assured that he has never been incriminated or found wanting in both his private and public careers stressing that his conscience was clear and that he was moving about freely without molestation.
