Governor Samuel Ortom has charged Benue people irrespective of political party affiliations to unite in order to salvage the future of the state.
He spoke today at Holy Family Catholic Church Kanshio in Makurdi during a thanksgiving service in honour of his elder brother, Sir Robert Faga Ortom, to mark his birthday and divine healing.
The Governor stated that security challenges in the state required the cooperation of all to combat, stressing that the battle against Benue was beyond what eyes could see.
While advising people of the state to engage in intensive commercial agriculture, Governor Ortom said the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law was to guarantee the prospects and opportunities in farming and to avoid clashes between crop farmers and herders.
Governor expressed appreciation to God for saving his brother on two occasions during severe illness, noting that God has a special thing He wants Sir Robert OrtAIn his testimony, Sir Robert Ortom said he was alive today because nothing is impossible with God, stressing that God helped him to fight the devil on several occasions and survive.
Preaching, Reverend Fr. Cosmos Jooli said God had proven in the case of Robert Ortom that He has the powers to heal the sick and bring the dead back to life.
He charged Christians to pray and seek God’s intervention in the midst of challenges confronting them, adding that their actions must be in tandem with their prayers.
