Former Minister of State, Industry, Trade and Investment and Benue State governorship aspirant, Chief Dr Samuel Ortom, wishes to commend members of the Peoples Democratic Party , PDP, in the state for turning out in their numbers to participate in the ward congresses of the party.
A statement signed by the Media Adviser of the Ortom Governorship Organization, Mr. Tahav Agerzua, quoted Chief Dr Ortom as expressing special appreciation to the members for the sacrifices they made to ensure that they participated in the exercise.
The former Minister said he was receiving and acting on some of the reports of what transpired from his supporters across the wards by taking up some of the issues raised with the relevant authorities.
The aspirant said the reports also indicated that he was solidly on ground in all the council wards in the state.
He appealed to the supporters to remain calm and await further briefing on the issue.
Chief Dr Ortom urged the appeal panel set up to address complaints arising from the exercise to treat genuine grievances and resolve them transparently, fairly, and impartially with dispatch.
The aspirant prayed that God would grant the leaders of the party the wisdom to listen to the voice of the people so as to deepen democracy in the country.
