Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, this morning visited two policemen who recently survived attacks in Igumale, Ado local government area, at the Federal Medical Centre, Apir.
Benue State Police Commissioner, Mr Bashir Makama, and other top government functionaries accompanied the Governor on the visit to Inspector Oche Agbaji and Sergeant Ocheya Salifu.
He also paid the medical bills of several indigent patients.
Addressing newsmen after the visit Governor Ortom vowed to support security agencies to arrest the attackers and bring them to book.
According to him the seriousness of his administration to tackle crime in the state had been demonstrated several times including the arrest of the killers of Rev Fr John Adeyi and several gang members of Mr Terwase Akwaza while the hunt for him has intensified.
Governor Ortom commended the management of the centre for their commitment to duty inspite of the current challenges and urged them to sustain the efforts.
Mr Makama acknowledged the support of the Governor to security agencies in the discharge of their responsibilities and stated that several arrests have been made in connection with the attacks assuring that more would be carried out.
