President of the Community of Tiv Students, CTS, University of Jos chapter, Comrade John Madugu has commended Chief Dr Samuel Ortom for choosing Professor Dennis Ityavyar to chair his policy and strategy committee.
Speaking with journalists in Jos, Comrade Madugu described Professor Ityavyar as an academic who was passionate about the development of Benue State and expressed hope that he would bring his passion and experience to bear on the assignment.
He said for choosing the right person to head a committee charged with the responsibility of drafting his blueprint the Minister of State, Industry, Trade and Investment has started well.
Comrade Madugu urged other governorship aspirants in the state to take a cue from Chief Dr Ortom who is aspiring on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The students leader stated that the careful selection of a team to help him draft a blueprint was an indication that he would ensure its strict implementation if given the mandate.
He particularly commended the Supervising Aviation Minister for what he described as his courage in appointing a professor of international repute to head the committee made up of men and women from all walks of life in the society.
According to him the involvement of other seasoned academics in the committee was an indication that Chief Dr Ortom wanted a well researched document upon which he could lean to deliver if elected Governor.
Comrade Madugu also commended what he described as the peaceful and Godly manner the minister has been carrying out consultations towards the realization of his aspiration adding that it was only a man with such a disposition that can bring democracy dividends to the grassroots.
While encouraging Chief Dr Ortom to continue with the peaceful consultations as is being generally acknowledged by the Benue electorate, Comrade Madugu enjoined the Professor Ityavyar-led blueprint committee to do its best to justify the confidence the aspirant has reposed in it.
