Minister of State, Industry, Trade and Investment, Chief Dr Samuel Ortom, has attributed his success in life to the practice of success recipe found in the Holy Bible.
He spoke during a thanksgiving service organized to mark the retirement of one of his political associates, Sir Wilfred Duenya, at the St Vincent Catholic Mission, Iorwar, in Aliade, Gwer local government area of Benue State.
The Minister reiterated the same message at the reception which was held at Jopsy Hotel, Aliade, where various groups and individuals feted him for his philanthropic gestures.
According to Chief Ortom, his dropping out of school coincided with his coming into contact with the Lord Jesus Christ who he said has made all the difference in his life.
He said since then the fear of God which the Bible says is the beginning of wisdom had always endued him with wisdom to do what was right most times.
Chief Dr Ortom stated that he adopted Job 36: 11 which provides that “if they obey and serve him, they will spend their days in prosperity and their years in pleasures,” as his success recipe early in life.
The Minister stressed that verse 12 of Job 36 outlined recipe for failure by stating that ” But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.”
He enjoined Christians and the entire people of the state to live in accordance with 11 so that it shall be well with them.
The governorship aspirant on the PDP platform stated that he also learnt the secret of giving from Luke 6: 38 adding that the application of the principle outlined in the verse and similar ones had taken him out of lack.
Chief Dr Ortom expressed gratitude to God for his mercies on the life of the celebrant who he said had a successful career spanning 35 years without blemish.
Sir Duenya stated that the aspirant gave him an opportunity to serve in Guma with him while he was council chairman when several others rejected him after he had been reabsorbed into service following an unsuccessful political outing.
Mr Edwin Aliba and Mrs Susan Yantyo who said Chief Dr Ortom gave them financial assistance years back when they had an accident and were hospitalized and Mrs. Mngbetsan Akam, who stated that he had treated her daughter, Mbavende Mbachirin, who had snake bite brought gifts to him.
Chief Dr Ortom also inaugurated three offices donated by supporters in Aliade town.
