Eminent traditional rulers from Benue State and beyond have felicitated with the State Governor-elect, Chief Dr Samuel Ortom, on his emergence as Governor on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The royal fathers include the Tor Tiv, Orchivirigh Dr Alfred Torkula, the Och’Idoma, Agabaidu Elias Obekpa, the Emir of Borgu in Niger State, Senator H Dantoro and the Och’Otukpo, Dr John Eimonye.
In separate congratulatory letters, the traditional rulers stated that Chief Dr Ortom’s victory at the polls was a clear manifestation of his general acceptance by the people of Benue State.
The Tor Tiv, Dr Torkula in his letter which he personally signed described the former Minister of State, Industry,Trade, and Investment as a patient, unassuming and humble man whose leadership qualities have endeared him to the people of the state.
In his letter, the Och’Idoma, Agabaidu Obekpa stated that Chief Dr Ortom’s victory did not come as a surprise in view of his hard work, diligence and tract record of achievements over the years.
The Emir of Borgu, Senator Dantoro who said the former Minister’s election was epoch-making expressed confidence that his administration shall avail the people of the state world class service delivery, fiscal accountability, genuine poverty alleviation and economic empowerment.
Dr Eimonye in his letter stated that Chief Dr Ortom was a pathfinder with more experience and integrity who had excelled among his peers.
In a statement signed by Tahav Agerzua, Media Adviser to the Governor-elect, the royal fathers prayed that Chief Dr Ortom’s administration would usher in progress, good governance, equity and fair play and prayed that God would give him the wisdom of Solomon and the strength to steer the state to enviable heights.
