The first female commercial pilot from Benue State, Miss Rosemary Mnguashima Sugh, has expressed solidarity with Chief Dr Ortom’s governorship aspiration urging him to invest in the aviation sector if he wins the election.
Miss Sugh made the appeal when she visited the Minister of State, Industry, Trade, and Investment, at his residence in Makurdi.
She said Chief Dr Ortom’s ambition excited her because of the experience he acquired in the Aviation Ministry as Supervising Minister and appealed to him to explore possibilities of acquiring an aircraft for the state and also making other investments in the sector.
The pilot who graduated from the Nigeria College of Aviation Technology, Zaria, in February this year said the Minister possessed qualities of a good leader including the fear of God, accessibility, as well as ability to act promptly on issues.
She said he received her warmly in his former office at the Aviation Ministry and facilitated her interview for employment at her former school after which the result is being awaited.
Miss Sugh, an indigene of Kwande local government area expressed appreciation to Governor Gabriel Suswam for sponsoring her and fourteen others through the school adding that she looked forward to a career in the profession.
She presented a souvenir to Chief Dr Ortom as a gesture of appreciation and solidarity.Receiving the souvenir, Chief Dr Ortom expressed appreciation for it and the visit and pledged to explore partnership with investors to implement her dreams if elected Governor.
He disclosed that commercial flights would soon resume at the Makurdi airport following arrangements concluded by the state government with his input while he supervised the Aviation Ministry.
