
The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Benue State, Chief Dr Samuel Ortom has rekindled hope for the completion of the tomato juice factory at Wannune in Tarka local government constructed during the administration of Governor George Akume.
Chief Dr Ortom spoke at a campaign rally at Wannune, the local government headquarters of Tarka local government area.
He pledged to complete the factory and several other moribund ones in the state as well as provide the enabling environment for their management and establishment of new ones through partnership with the organized private sector in order to create jobs and wealth for the people of the state.
The former Minister of State, Industry, Trade, and Investment promised to also find a permanent solution to the perennial communal violence between Guma, his home local government and Tarka, that of Senate Minority Leader, Senator Dr George Akume who was also at the rally.
The deputy governorship candidate, Engr Benson Abounu, other top APC leaders in the state as well as national and state assembly candidates were also present at the rally.
Also speaking at the occasion where several leaders of the PDP into the APC, Senator Akume urged the people of the area to come out enmasse to vote for candidates of the APC in the February elections.
The former Governor assured the decampees that they won’t be discriminated against because they had just joined the party and encouraged them to work hard so as to ensure the victory of the party at the polls
Chief Akange Audu, a former APC gubernatorial aspirant also asked all his supporters to queue behind the candidature of Dr Ortom who he said has the capacity to redirect the affairs of the state to greater heights.
Chairman of the APC in Tarka local government, Joel Alujimin and a leader of the party in the local governmnet, Emmanuel Manger all pledged that the local government will return one hundred percent votes for the party at the February polls.
They include Hon Gabriel Salemkaan, one time Legislative Leader of the council, Hon Terver Kendeshe, Hon Denen Tyokuughul, Akor Kwagh, Hon Ala Kaase who led over 2000 of their supporters into the APC
House of assembly candidate for Tarka, Mr Bem Mngutyo, his House of Representatives counterpart, Dr John Dyegh as well as senatorial candidate, Dr Akume, were all presented at the occasion.
