Governor Samuel Ortom’s reelection bid received a boost yesterday from the people of Konshisha Local Government Area when they reemphasized their resolve to stand with Ortom in thick and thin.
They sopke in Agbeede, during a grand reception in honour of the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Terver Akase, organized by Mbator Progressive Forum, Agbeede-Gaav.
Speakers including the Federal Commissioner representing Benue at the Public Complaints Commission, Chief Theophilus Adzaagee, Chief Clement Azuanongo, Hon. Saawuan Tarnongo, Mr Julius Atorough among others were unanimous that Jechira would return block votes for Governor Ortom in 2019.
They noted that since the creation of Benue State, no Governor had staked his neck to save his people the way Governor Ortom is doing, stressing that he stands for Benue and people of the state would also stand with him.
The stakeholders while expressing appreciation to Governor Ortom for finding their son worthy of appointment as Chief Press Secretary, also eulogized Mr. Akase for his hardwork, commitment to duty and prayed God to grant him better opportunities in life.
In his address, Governor Ortom, represented by his Special Adviser on Government House Administration, Mr. Thomas Anajav, commended the people of Konshisha for the quality training they had given his Chief Press Secretary.
He stated that Benue people have spoken through the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law and there was no going back on the issue, stressing that he would continue to do things that would impact positively on lives of the people.
The Governor assured the people of Konshisha that his administration would ensure the completion of Anshagba- Amua-Agbeede-Ge-Ikyobo road and installation of transformers in various communities for extension of electricity.
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Terver Akase said Governor Ortom had opened a new chapter in animal husbandry in the country, noting that the schemes by some individuals in the state sponsored by external forces to detract the Governor would fail.
He appreciated Mbator Progressive Forum for the reception, saying the gesture would spur him to do more.
