Kinsmen of a retired commissioner of Police, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav, have dissociated themselves from his attacks on the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, describing his activities as unwarranted, provocative, unreasonable and unpardonably irritant.
The All Progressives Congress, APC, stakeholders in Vandeikya local government area, signed a communiqué at the end of a meeting at the Bays Garden in Gboko.
“The stakeholders and the entire Kunav people dissociate themselves from the unwarranted, provocative, unreasonable, and unpardonably irritant attacks on the personality of our respected Governor, Samuel Ortom,” they stated.
“Such attacks are machinations and a figment of the imagination of the said Alhaji Abubakar Tsav aimed at distracting the Governor’s attention to the current challenges and those ahead.”
Messrs Aseer Ihongu, APC Vandeikya local government chairman, U M Nezam, party leader, Baba Ayemti, state Public Relations Officer, E O Akula, chairman, Vandeikya caretaker committee, Iorcugh Igbayue, commodore Dan Ihinga, rtd, and Hundu, Gabriel Mkaanem, all stakeholders, signed the communiqué.
“The people of Vandeikya local government showed their overwhelming support for Governor Ortom when they voted as the third highest in terms of votes cast for the Governorship Election in the 11th April, 2015 polls,” they said.
“The people of Vandeikya still have unflinching confidence in Governor Ortom and hereby congratulate him over his 100 days in office and steps he has taken to reconcile all parties and to take Benue State to greater heights.”
According to them “Alhaji Tsav is partisan and failed to criticize the previous PDP government in the state that performed poorly without proper direction,” adding that it had mandated a three-man committee which visited and appealed to him to leave the Governor alone.
