Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship aspirant in Benue State, Chief Dr Samuel Ortom, has assured his supporters that most of those who emerged as Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, delegates at the ward congresses in the state would vote for him at the forthcoming primaries.
Speaking at his campaign headquarters at High Level in Makurdi shortly before departure to attend the funeral of the late Chief Francis Adyo popularly known as Double Bridge District Head, this morning, Chief Dr Ortom said he had played politics with most politicians in the state for decades and had earned their confidence.
“As an old player most politicians in the state who incidentally constitute a large percentage of the delegates have interacted one on one with me and we relate on first name basis and so I have little problem counting on their support,” he stressed.
The former Minister of State, Industry, Trade, and Investment, appealed for calm saying he would soon embark on visits to all local government areas to solicit their support which he said he was sure to get.
He however noted that power belonged to God who he said crowned using the people maintaining that he looked to Him for ultimate victory.
Chief Dr Ortom expressed appreciation to Governor Gabriel Suswam for his pledge to provide a level playing field for all aspirants and for boosting his business and political careers over the years.
The aspirant disclosed that the Governor donated a brand new Sports Utility Vehicle to him for the campaign a week ago for which he said he remained grateful.
He said he also appreciated the various contributions he has received across the state and assured that if given the mandate he would justify the confidence reposed in him by propelling unprecedented development of the state in all sectors.
