Governor Samuel Ortom last night hosted members of the Strategy Committee that drafted his blueprint, “Our Collective Vision For A New Benue.”
The occasion took place at the New Banquet Hall of the Benue Peoples House.
He expressed appreciation for the contribution of the committee to the charting of the direction of his administration and pledged to remain focused on the implementation of the document even as their observations and suggestions on his performance would be acted upon.
The Governor promised to meet more regularly with the committee to get feedback and input in governance.
Committee chairman and Education, Science and Technology commissioner, Professor Denis Ityavyar, said many members of the committee have been involved in government at levels from which they could facilitate the implementation of the vision document.
Vice Chairman of the Committee and Vice Chancellor of Kwararafa University, Professor Yakubu Ochefu, stated that it was the first time in the history of the State that a Governor would host those who drafted his blueprint.
The chairman and the Vice as well as Mrs Mkeryi Amahson, a dedicated committee member, were decorated in Benue traditional fabrics while the State’s cultural Troupe thrilled the audience.
Governor Ortom led dignitaries to dance in celebration of the committee.
