Benue State Governor-elect, Chief Dr Samuel Ortom, has assured communities in the state that he would be fair to them in making political appointments.
He gave the assurance when he hosted various groups including All Progressives Congress, APC, stakeholders from Kwande local government area, Masev Development Association, and Igede APC stakeholders at his residence and that of Senator George Akume, in Makurdi.
Chief Dr Ortom stated that he appreciated the contributions which each of the communities made towards his victory at the polls and would not afford to shortchange any of them.
According to the former Minister of State, Industry, Trade and Investment, he shall hold a roundtable with stakeholders to determine where each position would go before making the appointments even as he shall strive to promote excellence over sycophancy and medioiefcrity.
Spokesman of the Kwande stakeholders, Mr Ngutor Anyam had stated that the local government performed well in the last general elections by winning all elective positions for the APC.
He requested for Speaker of the Assembly and commissioner while appealing that the Secretary to the state government be moved to the Benue North East senatorial district in recognition of its role in the electoral victory of the incoming administration.
Mr Anyam also requested for the provision of critical infrastructure including roads and educational institutions as well as industries in the area even as he demanded intervention to quell Fulani menace.
An elder from the area, Mr Jonathan Ichaver appealed to the Governor-elect to revamp Taraku Oil Mill.
Spokesmen of Masev Development Association, and Igede APC stakeholders, Mr Martin Agber, and Chief Engr Morgan Okwoche had requested positions of Minister and Secretary to the state government respectively for their people.
