Since the start of consultations for his 2015 Benue State Governorship, Minister of State, Industry, Trade and Investment, Chief Dr Samuel Ortom and his entourage have consistently sang one song before take off for trips and upon return.
The song is an adaption based on Caleb’s positive confession in Numbers 13.
“We’re able to go up and take Benue,
To possess the state from North to the South,
Though the Giants may be on the way to hinder,
God will surely give us victory.
Only move on to the righteous side,
Move on to the righteous side,
Move on to the righteous side with God.”
Yesterday morning we sang the song and prayed before setting off for Okpoga and later Oju in the Benue South Senatorial District to dialogue with PDP stakeholders in the area with regard to the aspiration.
One of those who spoke at Oju, Augustine Abe, again raised the song after his speech and all joined him to sing.
When we returned safely to the campaign headquarters at about 10pm we sang the song, prayed and dispersed.
