Tomorrow, Monday May 22, Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom will sign the open grazing prohibition and establishment of ranches law. The Governor will perform the assent ceremony during the state (town) hall/stakeholders meeting at the Benue Peoples House, Makurdi.
But the open grazing prohibition law is not the only legislation that Governor Ortom will sign tomorrow during the stakeholders meeting. He will also give assent to the law on prohibition of hostage-taking/kidnapping, cultism and similar activities recently passed by the Benue State House of Assembly.
The two laws are part of the Ortom administration’s efforts to guarantee security of lives and property and ensure that peace prevails in all parts of Benue State.
